    Essay

Modernism was the art in the early 20th century while postmodern art is one of the few emerging forms of art practiced today. Postmodernism art is common with artist like Ron Mueck and Patricia Piccinini  who  are able to create pieces of art which relies on the putting together of different or various ensembles to create one fitting piece of art (Khosravishakib, 2012).
Ron Mueck is a creative Australian modern artist who is best known for his uniquely designed life like sculptures whereby similarly; Patricia Paccinini is also an Australian artist who has a great taste for art in various forms of media such as painting, printing and sculpture. These two artists are known for their works in hyperrealism. Below is a look at the similarities and differences of both artists with regards to their art works and what they bring out with relevance to post modern art. In hyperrealism, subjects are brought to life through photorealistic sculptures truthfully without hiding any element in the art. A good example of realism is seen in Ron Mueck work in the drawing of a pregnant naked woman; a drawing that depicts naturalness in his work and attention to detail that make his work original stand out ( National Gallery of Australia, 2002)
The aim of this essay is to review the work of two popular artists; Ron Mueck and Patricia Paccinini who have had an impeccable background in artwork and who specialize in postmodernism art. It compares and contrasts their postmodernism work in relation to appropriation and intersexuality.  The two artists have had outstanding work display that shows their love for art and that has taken art to a new dimension. The essay compares and contrasts their work based on postmodernism art and its significance to post modern theory and practice.
Postmodern characteristics in Ron Mueck and Patricia Paccinini work
A look at the use of appropriation on the art works of both Ron and Paccinini shows their inspiration of their works from what they see around them. Both artists have been able to create figures from various objects that come from different kinds of life forms from animate inspirations to those that are inanimate. Generally, their sculptures eventually bring out a bizarre animation; while Patricia’s work is specifically pinpointed towards biotechnology in fields such as genetics where abnormal or unusual humanlike features are created, Ron Mueck’s work is mostly generalized on well known human features which you can intrigue on (Lovejoy, 2008).
Similar to other hyperrealist artists, Ron began working in the entertainment industry as he made puppets for TV shows where his work was used to portray playful and humorous characters. As for Patricia, there really isn’t really a lot of humor or playfulness as most of her sculptures are based on existing human inventions that have been molded in a unique perspective that you can still relate with. The irony in both artists’ sculptures though is seen by the nature of somewhat exaggerated lengths to justify their works of art. Patricia is best known for the use of parody when she made the balloon “The Skywhale” which caused quite a buzz since its release.
A clear cut deconstruction of Ron’s work shows that the artist is keen to express the various forms of emotion that can be portrayed by human beings where the bigger than life structures bring home the dramatization of what or just how an expression can arouse an unforeseen effect. As for Patricia’s art work, she greatly explains to you how imaginations can bring about unusual but yet socially acceptable or tolerable sculptures that need your imaginative skills in order to understand what is being displayed. Her work differentiates from Ron’s work in this level as the sculptures done by Ron are self explanatory (Newhall, 2001).
As a matter of hyperrealism the sculptures done by both artists are quite exceptional as the quality and professionalism applied is unique. With that being put to note,  Ron Mueck’s work is more of a realistic design as his artwork compared to that of Patricia deals with what everyone goes through in their everyday life unlike the science fiction approach that comes with Patricia’s work. Patricia has a great approach but it needs some time to pick up to what can be socially acceptable.
