    The assignment is research based and requires the student to become more knowledgeable about using varied research sources and understand research methodology. The assignment will develop critical thinking and analytical skills and enable students to synthesize information and develop informed views.
    This assignment requires students to explore and apply an advanced body of knowledge in a range of current contexts in the Cross Cultural Management/Business or Cross Cultural Leadership/International Businessdiscipline.
    The research paper will begin with identifying a current topic in theprofessional practice or discipline of Cross Cultural Management/Business or Cross Cultural Leadership/International Business.
    The next step is to develop a proposal which covers the objective of the research to be addressed, the methodology to be used, and the strategic plan for accomplishing the project. Feedback needs to be obtained from the unit coordinator before proceeding with the project. An acceptable topic will be negotiated between the student and unit convener
    The third step is conducting a literature review to advance the theoretical knowledge and develop your cognitive skills in the discipline. The literature review will enable you to identify gaps in the existing literature and develop research propositions for your project. Students will identify one or two theories from the vast knowledge in the area and investigate their research informed by these theories.Select an appropriate research methodology and validate its appropriateness for theproject. Collect quantitative or qualitative data, secondary data or case studies to support your research.
    The last step is to analyse the data and draw outcomes and conclusions. This section will end with addressing limitations of your research project and suggestions for future research in the topic area.
    Sample topics
    Topics may include the significance of culture in international management, the meaning and dimensions of culture, comparative international management and leadership styles, managing communication across cultures, ethics and social responsibility in global management, cultural views of intellectual property around the world, cross-cultural negotiation and decision-making, cross-cultural leadership and motivation, forming and managing global teams, culture and consumer behaviour and developing the international and global manager.
